During your tour through the mountainous region north of Luang Prabang in Laos, you’ll hike for approximately seven hours through stunning mountain scenery and past vibrant green rice paddies. In our opinion, this is the ideal way to experience the way of life of the hill tribes. Finally, you’ll hike back along the Nam Khan River to Luang Prabang, completing the final leg of the journey by narrowboat.

Discover rural Thailand on a journey through Isaan. Travel by train through verdant rice paddies and small villages before enjoying a local meal. Visit the Phanom Rung Temple, a masterpiece of Khmer architecture, and explore the region by bicycle. Continuing your journey south, you’ll experience a fruit plantation and spend the night in a community-based hotel in Chanthaburi. This off-the-beaten-path tour will bring you closer to the real Thailand.

1. Organiser

2. Eligibility

The giveaway is open to natural persons who are at least 18 years of age.

3. Giveaway Period

The giveaway will run from 22 April 2026 to 06 May 2026. Entries submitted after this period will not be considered.

4. How to Enter

To enter the giveaway, participants must complete the entry form in full on the following website: www.erlebe.de/polarsteps-giveaway/.
Participants are solely responsible for ensuring that the information they provide, especially their email address, is accurate and complete. Incorrect or incomplete information may result in disqualification from the giveaway.
Incomplete, incorrect, or otherwise invalid entries will not be accepted.

5. Prize

The winner will receive one multi-day tour organised by erlebe in Laos, Thailand, or Cambodia, including the activities, accommodation, transfers, and meals specified in the selected program.
There are three modules to choose from, and each participant must select one preferred tour in the entry form.

Any costs for services not explicitly included in the selected tour program must be covered by the winner.
The prize cannot be exchanged for cash, transferred, or substituted. The prize is personal and non-transferable. It may not be passed on to a third party, whether free of charge or otherwise.
Travel must take place by the end of 2026. If the winner is unable to travel within this period, the prize will be forfeited and awarded to another participant.
The itinerary is fixed in advance and cannot be altered individually.
erlebe reserves the right to make changes to the itinerary or individual components of the tour if necessary for organisational, safety-related, or other valid reasons. In such cases, erlebe will ensure that the nature and overall value of the tour are maintained as far as possible.
If individual services or program elements are not used by the winner or are explicitly declined, there is no entitlement to partial payment or alternative compensation.
Rebooking is not possible. If the winner cancels the tour, the prize will be forfeited without replacement. Any costs incurred as a result of non-participation shall be borne by the winner. We therefore recommend taking out travel cancellation insurance, which is offered by erlebe.
It is possible to extend the program and add additional stays before or after the tour at an extra cost.
The winner is solely responsible for the proper declaration and taxation of the prize, should any tax obligation arise.

6. Winner Selection

The winner will be selected at random from all valid entries. The draw will take place during the week commencing 11 May 2026.

7. Winner Notification

The winner will be notified by email during the week commencing 11 May 2026. The winner must confirm acceptance of the prize within 5 working days. If no response is received within this period, a new winner will be drawn.

8. Data Protection

For the purpose of conducting the giveaway, personal data provided by participants (gender, name, language and email address) will be processed exclusively for the administration of the giveaway.
By entering the giveaway, German-speaking participants also agree to receive the erlebe newsletter in the future. Dutch-speaking participants agree to receive the newsletter of Riksja Travel in the future. Consent may be withdrawn at any time via the unsubscribe link in the newsletter or by email to info@erlebe.de.
Participants’ data will not be shared with third parties. The erlebe privacy policy applies and can be accessed here: www.erlebe.de/datenschutz/.

9. Exclusion from the Giveaway

Employees of erlebe and Polarsteps and their relatives are excluded from participation.
erlebe reserves the right to exclude participants from the giveaway in cases of irregularities, in particular in the case of automated or multiple entries.

10. Early Termination or Changes to the Giveaway

erlebe reserves the right to terminate or amend the giveaway in whole or in part at any time for good cause and without prior notice. This applies in particular in the event of technical issues or manipulation of the giveaway.

11. Legal Recourse and Liability

Legal recourse is excluded. erlebe accepts no liability for technical disruptions, failures, or delays that may affect participation in the giveaway or the notification of the winner.

12. Miscellaneous

The laws of the Federal Republic of Germany shall apply. In all other respects, the general terms and conditions of erlebe shall apply to the organisation and handling of the prize tour. These can be accessed here: https://www.erlebe.de/reisebedingungen/.
Participants are responsible for complying with the current entry requirements for Thailand, Laos, or Cambodia.

13. Entry Restriction

Only one entry per person is permitted. Multiple entries will not increase the chances of winning and may lead to disqualification from the giveaway. Duplicate entries, for example using different email addresses, will be manually reviewed and removed.

14. Publication of the Winner

The winner agrees to the publication of their first name and place of residence (for example, “Anna from Munich”) as well as the use of a photo provided by them on the Polarsteps website and social media channels. The photo will be used exclusively for communication relating to the giveaway and for no other purpose.
